          Everything started one of those gorgeous fall day we all enjoy so much. It was October 2006. Five of us met for lunch at the Cowboy Café in Dubois: Bayard Fox, Claude Poulet, Severine Murdoch, the owner of the café, my wife Jany and I. The discussion (in French and animated!) was all about making a book on the Wind River Country. By the time coffee and desert made it to the table, we had agreed on the main goals and style of the book.   We even agreed on the Title: “Wind River Country, the Hidden Heart of Wyoming”.

          Two years later, we are very happy to bring to you the results of our effort. Thanks to the incredible talents of Claude Poulet, a renowned professional photographer from France, and Bayard Fox, a multi-talented Rancher from Dubois, the Wind River Country is brought to life like never before. Matthew Fox, who grew up in Crowheart and has achieved Hollywood stardom, was very kind and wrote a very emotional foreword, straight out of his heart. Other folks have helped us too and are listed on the last page.
